Human Knowledge belongs to world”

It’s this principle that drives the Computer Society of MIT. If you believe in the concept of “open source“, then Carte Blanche 07 is your cup of tea.

Carte Blanche, a French word for “Unlimited freedom”, carries the flavor of the event – “OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE”. It is an upcoming fete on Free/Open Source Software (FOSS). It is scheduled to take place on March 3, 2007 at Madras institute of technology (MIT), Anna University, Chrompet. Organized by the Computer Society of MIT, this event is technically supported by AU-KBC, The Indian Linux User Group - Chennai Chapter (ILUGC), National Resource Centre for FOSS (NRC-FOSS), Computer Society of India (CSI) and IEEE Computer Society.

All these big names come together with a noble mission - to create awareness about FOSS at the grass root level and augment the source support to the open source fraternity. MIT is now incubating series of innovations in this area. One such indigenous product is “Swatantara V1.0”, a free live CD of GNU/Linux system, custom built for engineering students, packed with all the scientific software they would require. This product would be released during Carte Blanche 07.

We, the members of marketing team of Carte Blanche 07, take immense privilege in inviting geeks to take part in the battle of grey cells. The specialty of this event is that it is relevant for motley group of people.
